This is the H&M red jeans I talked about on my other post, my boyfriend got me these as a birthday present. I'm wearing them with a ruffled shirt that I've remixed soooooo many times that's worth its own post, black blazer and I wasn't sure about the handbag since I used this same one on my previous post but it's ok I guess. I really need a plain black handbag, I only have monogrammed ones and they don't go that well with what I was trying to do here. This is a really short post because I have a lot of stuff that I want to write on different ones hahaha so maybe tomorrow I'll write them.

Well, as I said on my yesterday's post, I need a post to show the stuff I got on Black Friday... but the I remembered that I bought basically just 3 blazers (I mean, I bought other stuff as well but these are the relevant ones) at H&M, they were $15 USD (original -and actual- price $39.99).
Lovely bright pink.
Navy.
Tan version of this one.
This is how the pink one looks, I loved it!!! A girl can never have too many blazers haha... I paired it with the previously mentioned (past entry) leopard/cheetah print scarf and my Express skyscraper jeans.
Well, this has been my birthday week! I turned 26 (ouch... it's getting closer to big 30) last Sunday and everything has been amazing! My boyfriend gave me 2 skinny jeans (a red-orangish and a salmon one) and a coral dress, all of them from H&M! very thoughtful of him. He also managed to bake a "Pink Beetle Convertible" cake, super cute!
So, I'm having a leopard print momento since I bought a leopard cardigan from Zara back in Malaysia, I think the print suits the season and it looks great specially on accesories and "add-ons" so I really really wanted a leopard scarf for my birthday (a gift from myself) but I am on a very tight budget since I'm doing all the Christmas shopping and I also went a bit crazy and did a lot of shopping on Black Friday (I'll do a late post on this later this week... I hope) so I didn't want to break the piggy bank in order to get my scarf therefore Amazon had to have it.
I checked tons... I really wanted to stick to something like $15 USD so it was very very hard, I finally found this one, but for some reason mine is coffee brown not tan brown as I was expecting since I had a whole outfit planned for this!
what I wanted... what I got...
I still like it, I think it looks very nice and it matches the buttons on the blazer I got on H&M's Black Friday sale... still, I need the tan one! not going to buy it from there because I don't think it was worth the $12+ USD, so I'm making my sister sew me one, and I'm thinking about an Infinity scarf since they're pretty much in vogue this winter.
I'm hoping she'll make something like this:
Other animal print items I'm craving about are:
Women's Mossimo® Ona Ballet Flat, $14.99 USD
Or the cheaper version of that shirt...
And that's it for now... I'm missing like 3 posts: the black friday one, my birthday outfit and my red skinnies outfit. I'm saying it here so I remember.
It's been 5 months since I trimmed my hair very short so it could grow nice and healthy.
I'm experimenting with a lot of products and I've noticed a nice change and I think it's quite longer now.
Right now I feel like reviewing the products I've used in the past few months:
The first week of two of using them my hair felt really soft but then it turned dry (I even got a bit of dandruff... very annoying), specially with the shampoo, so I finished my less-than-a-half-liter bottle and I didn't use it again. I still have the conditioner and the treatment and I use them regularly, I kind of like them but truth is I'm only using them because I already bought them and I'm not a waster haha.
I picked this one because I needed immediate anti-dandruff help and this looked pretty new and I'm always trying new stuff to see how they result. When I use it, it's pretty much like a "deep cleansing" kind of shampoo, it lathers a lot and your scalp feels fresh and minty. I use this only twice a week, just to control the scalp issue. I do still need a proper deep cleansing shampoo and I'm looking for a Natura one, still don't know where to buy it!
3. Santé Shampoo (Mexican brand).
This looked very "organic" thanks to the carrot stuff that it claims to have. I really like it, it doesn't lather a lot and that's a downside since I feel I have to shampoo twice when I'm using this, but it really makes your hair feel softer and less frizzy.
4. Skin, Nails and Hair Formula (120 caplets)
My boyfriend got these for me at Vitamin World, I figured I should also make sure I'm taking the proper vitamins and supplements while trying to get my hair to grow. I'm still not sure if I'm getting positive effects using them or not, I've taken them for a month now but I think it's too soon to judge, maybe after 3 months I'll decide if they're worth it or not.
Also, I got a second trim 2 weeks ago just to get rid of "dead ends".
This is a comparison between my hair June 16th and my hair last Saturday (don't laugh at the costume, a friend had a costumes birthday party so...)
Maybe it's a super bit shorter in real life because there my chin is kind of down, but it's pretty close. I also waited all these 5 months before using my flat iron again, I used it on Saturday and just because I knew this picture could help as a comparison.
I feel like it's taking FO-RE-VER to grow... but hopefully by the end of next year I'll achieve my goal :)
As a side note, I never published a photo using my so-wanted H&M Gold Pants so this is it (I didn't like it thaaat much because it was very windy and my top "ruffles" are not showing properly :( ). I have to say I don't love them, I like them, I believe they're pretty but the fit is not nice at all, I had to buy a size bigger for them to feet the length of my legs, so they look kind of baggy (specially in the derrière considering I'm not lucky on that department).

So I'm back from Asia. I really thought I'd have proper time to post some entries here but I just didn't. The way people live in Bangkok is crazy! They work all day... literally all day long! I used to arrive at 8:30-9:00 am to the office and the guys were already there, leave the office at 9pm or even later, guys still there!
My thoughts about Bangkok, Thailand.
- Clothes are very cheap, specially at The Platinum Fashion Mall! but they're very very small... considering I'm 5'11" tall and I'm not tiny, it was very painful haha. I got very nice deals on tops and some handbags (not branded nor knock off, just plain very pretty ones).
My goodies after the Platinum visit :)
- Taxis are pink! just like my car... that kind of pink, so they're very nice to look at.
- Some taxi drivers (specially elders) are very rude, they burp and fart all the time while driving the cab, it always rains in Bangkok (at least this time of year) so with your windows all rolled up this is definitely NOT nice.
- There are no fat girls, at least no fat young girls. All of them are very tiny and most of them have a very colorful and even elegant fashion sense.
- They eat chilli like they have no stomach whatsoever!
- I loved their bubble tea, it's like the real stuff.
- If you're a guy, please mind the ladyboys... sometimes they're prettier than girls.
- Even when my hotel was very luxurious, downtown is not nice, it's somewhat dirty and smelly, it was like being home hahaha.
And about Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
- I LOVED IT!
- They have TONS of malls, all of them are high-class, Fashion Valley got nothing on them!
- I loved this very peculiar fruit called Durian, which is a bittersweet pudding-like fruit, it's like you're eating vanilla flan with some kind of liquor. Fun fact: the fruit is actually so smelly it's prohibited for tourists to bring it to hotels.
- The Petronas twin towers are just breathtaking ♥.
- Everything is cute but high quality, I bought a pair of shoes in a store called Miss T and the place was full of cute stuff, I asked the lady if they had a website but they don't :( this is a picture of the store I found in foursquare. As a general rule, all stores are very nice designed and have great decor detail.
Little candy store, I just loved the ribbon!

Bangkok, here I come!
As some of you may know already, I'm having a business trip to Thailand and Malaysia, I'm leaving tomorrow for Bangkok and I'll spend a week there! Even when I'm going to be working and not precisely turisting all day, I'm soo excited because I've never been to Asia before and I know this is going to be a great experience.
I'm staying at a beautiful hotel that's actually inside a shopping mall!!! how nice is that?
After the week in Bangkok, I'll fly to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and I'll be there for two more weeks :), I'm dying to see the Petronas in real life! My flight leaves from LAX but I'll stop in San Diego and I'll do some very necessary shopping in Fashion Valley since over there seems to be very hot and I don't have much summerish clothes (lately, I don't have much clothes at all) since my office's dressing code is somewhat strict.
What I'm hoping to buy on this mini-shopping spree is:
H&M
Gold Pants (to die for!!! I sooo need them)
Electric blue skinny jeans
Forever 21
Colorblocked Panel Top
Sleeveless Trapeze Shirt
Classic Cuffed Denim Shorts
Silk Zipper Back Top
Jacquard Striped Tie-Neck Tunic
Let's see if I'm lucky and I find everything on the stores, it's very hard to match what's on the website with the store's inventory :(
This is it for today, wish me luck on my trip!

If you have read previous posts, you may already know that my latest obsession is to make my hair look healthy and pretty once and for all.
I want my hair to grow reaaaaally long, this is why I got a haircut, I haven't colored it (even when I have more than a few gray hairs showing in my 25 year old head :( ) and I haven't used my straightener nor my hair dryer. I can't lie, sometimes my hair looks horrible hahaha and I get tired of buns and braids... but I'm convinced that I have to do this in order to get what I want, this is the price I have to pay now.
A couple of months ago, a girl I know (that had AMAZING long and healthy hair) gave me her routine and since I'm desperate because I don't get the results I want with what I was doing, I started the mini-routine yesterday.
It's very simple, she uses all Herbal Essences "Prolóngalo" products (Shampoo, Conditioner and Hair Creme). This is the version for Mexico but I guess the equivalent in the US is the "Long Term Relationship" collection, eventhough I didn't find the styling creme on their US website.
So I have to shampoo with this and wait a bit, not rinse it right away like I always do.
Then, just on the lenght of the hair, apply this and keep it for the rest of the shower (bodywash, shave, etc).
Finally, on wet hair, apply just a bit of this and let naturally dry. Also what I'm doing is untangling with a huge comb like the one below, but I never ever brush my hair when it's wet.
It seems pretty easy, maybe I just need to stick to easy stuff instead of adding too much products and getting all this build up?
Sooo... two days ago I went to Walmart and bought everything and I started using the products yesterday, I used them today, and well, I don't know what to think, my hair feels soft and smells great, but I have flyaways all the time :(, don't know how to fix this. Also, she gave me the contact info of the girl that trims her hair, she says the girl has "magic scissors" or something because her hair grows faster since she first had a haircut in her salon and today I will call and get an appointment and see if she can cut my hair saturday morning (I'm going to a wedding so it'll be perfect if she could just... try to... make it look pretty?).
Expect some pics soon!

My name is Laura Ornelas.
I'm from a small town called Ensenada in Baja, Mexico. I love it here because it's super close to the border so I get to go shopping to California every now and then.
I'm a Software Engineer, I graduated from Tec de Monterrey with a Bachelor Degree in Computer Technologies Engineering and I've been working at a Mexican software outsourcing called Softtek for the past 6 years.
My passion for fashion -specially for street style- began on 2008, while I was living in France. Looking at the regular European girl I noticed my clothes were so boring (I used to be the flare fit blue jeans + Aeropostale hoodie kind of girl) and Europe took my breath away; specially the style from Paris and Copenhaguen, everybody looked so put together! That same year I became obsessed with "Wardrobe Remixing", googled everything about it and opened this blog.
I love luxury! but sadly I can't really afford it, that's why you will always read about me being happy with highly discounted luxury items. I hate paying retail and I believe that for high end brands and designers, I have never paid retail and I don't think I ever will.
I'm 5'11" (1.80m), Mexican girls don't usually come in my size, that's why I talk a lot about "tall" sizes and outfits for tall girls like me. I'm obsessed with achieving the perfect healthy hair, as you can read in many posts, I really want it to be extra-long, shiny and healthy; so I try a lot of different things and you can see in previous posts that I have moved away from stuff with tons of chemicals and embraced sulfate-free and paraben-free products (along with an extense haircare routine!).
I love my family, I love admiring and creating beautiful things, I love design and I love my dogs.
Thank you for stopping by and letting me share these pieces of my life with you guys ♥.
xoxo,
Laura

I'm thinking of "revamping" my blog... thinking of a new design and new tagging for the posts... making categories and such. I want to add a bit of crafting and traveling :)... I'm still working on the first drafts but hopefully for next month we'll have something different around here.
Right now I feel like ranting about my nonexistent wardrobe... it has been months, probably over a year since I bought some decent new outfits... I just don't have any money left after I pay my college loan, pay the house bills, pay gas, pay the car, pay for my mother's and my existence... I work and work and work... I don't have free time at all! I just want my student debt to be over! I have to hold on... one more year and it'll be gone!!! and right after that, I'll just go and do some crazy shopping!
I'm thinking maybe I could take advantage of end of season sales when the summer's over... we'll see.. there's a lot going on!
So... to start with my categories post, I'll name this "Friday Tunes"... on Friday Tunes I pretend to talk about music I love, new albums, songs, etc.
Today's topic is: Tegan and Sara's Concert - Oct 4th, San Diego, CA.
I HAVE to be there. It has been more than 10 years since the first time I listened to their song "My Number" (this happened while I was watching my favorite movie of all times Sweet November) and I totally fell in love with them, I quickly downloaded their albums and I've been a loyal fan ever since but I've never been to a concert, this has to be it. I just need a bit of money and I'm good to go hahaha.
Songs I'm expecting them to play:
- Superstar
- Hell
- The Con
- I won't be left
- Don't confess
- This is everything
- Call it off
- Frozen
Awwww.... I'm really looking forward to this! Plus, it'll be our 2nd anniversary celebration!
This is it for now, I want to dedicate this post to my best and beloved friends of all times, Ads and Conde, I love you guys a lot! And I miss peting you hahaha... mlospto.

I just LOVE The Naked and Famous! I just had to say it and write about it! ever since Gossip Girl brought them to my life I just can't stop listening to their songs... I totally recommend them!
Anyway... what can I say? I've been kind of quiet the past couple of months, I guess I haven't found any fashion inspiration yet... I guess right now for me it's going to be everything about hair since I just cut mine, it's shoulder length now and... I HATE IT! I hate short hair, it's just soo not my style, but I needed the cut in order for my hair to grow healthier, fuller and hopefully, more moisturized.
My ideal of GREAT hair:
If I could just have that hair!!! oh my God!!! I'd be super happy!
So... here's my "It's-time-to-have-a-super-nice-hair-plan"

- Brand new cut, as I just said I got.
- I'm planning on buying these vitamins just to see if they work, I mean, they can't do any harm.
- I'm going to buy a local mexican shampoo that claims to grow your hair faster (if it works, I'll keep you posted).
- NO Straightener (I just used it once the day after I cut it and it was because I was invited to a wedding and my hair was a huge mess... posting the pic of the day and length below).
- NO heavy hair products.
- Lots of water.
- Produce and leafy greens.
A very dear friend of mine inspired me to dedicate a post on this blog to the Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab since his creations have been very eye-catching lately. Personally, I'm in love with all of his 2012 Fall/Winter prêt-à-porter but my friend pointed out his haute couture and omg, it's just sooo enchanting and lovely!
So these are my picks, I'd love to have 'em all!!!! I need moneeeey!!!!
These five looks I'd love for work!!! They're just soo classy.
And these dresses!!! I could definitely die wearing one of these!
And well... I finally have a picture of the wedding I was bridesmaid of two weekends ago, with my coral dress and aqua nails (loved the combo). My friend Edna (at the left) kindly edited and added this pic to her FB so I stole it from there hehe.
This spring I've been craving for the mix of 3 very nice colors: coral, turquoise and salmon. Of course I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel, I'm just saying that I think this year the blend of these colors will be very suitable for any kind of event; this feeling is why I'm looking forward to paint my nails with turquoise polish for a wedding I'm going to be bridesmaid of at the end of this month (pictures coming soon).
As for now, I just compiled a bunch of pics of outfits and accesories that I just loved for this season (florals are a must), I hope my wallet will allow me to buy 2 maybe 3 items so I can offer my wardrobe something in sacrifice hehe.
